Make a success of your career

There are sometimes when you feel that your work is slow and success at work feels so far away . Instead of feeling like you’re off  track we recommend to you ten things you can do to improve while others figure out what’s happening. There is no bad time to start, and once you do you’ll see small changes making big differences.

Even though every office and organisation has long term strategic goals it is always best if you set some small goals for  yourself. Lets call them targets. It is amazing what achieving a target can do for your mental health. The sense of achievement is necessary to keep yourself going. Do not feel scared if you feel that you’ll stretch yourself too much and it is important for you to know that you can manage harder tasks and closer deadlines. You could share your goals and achievements with your coworkers because getting feedback is important. They may even join you on your quest for personal growth, which will help both them and the company. If you can, get both a mentor and a protégé  because you can all benefit from each other by getting feedback and learning from the other’s experiences. Do not stop there but build your network as best you can as people around you are important. Remember to stop and look back every once in a while, again as it is also very important to have that sense of achievement. Above all, never stop listening. There are great ideas and opportunities everywhere; you just have to be alert and paying attention.

By implementing these small tasks you will find yourself more in connection with your work. You will see that your attitude towards slow days and approaching deadlines will change for the better. You can even improve your relationships in the workplace. All of these will certainly help you to have a healthier life and boost your career the way everyone wants to.

Being a success  at work does not necessarily mean that you have to rise to senior management level. What it means is that you do quality work and that you meet deadlines and that you do both in the context of the life that you wish to lead.
