Another thing before leaving you should inform someone where you’re going and for how long and make sure they can reach you in case of an emergency.

Also if you are sure of where you’re going, purchase you a train pass that will allow you to travel in certain countries for a period of time.If you need to get around town, walk or take the bus, cab rides will eat through your money quickly.

Research the hostels you will be staying in and make sure they have communal kitchens, making your own meals can save you loads of money. Also while you are out on the town take your own snacks to tide you over until meal time, that way you aren’t wasting money. Another thing to remember is that it’s cheaper to buy alcohol at a store then at a bar in a tourist location. If you decide to drink at a bar, keep up with the drink card they give you, you don’t want to be charged with drinks you didn’t order. Remember no matter where you go there are people without scruples, so keep your cash close to you.

If you follow these helpful tips, you can have a fun and very cheap trip without any major problems.
