Today is the day, how did you get on at A Level Results Day?

It is the day many students have been eagerly awaiting or dreading… A Level results day!

Across the country, A Level students have collected their results which will enable them to plan their future, many of them will have achieved the right grades to progress onto University, however with University applications falling by 2% compared to 2016 due to the demographic dip of 18 year olds, many students are choosing other educational or working paths.

Didn’t get the grades you wanted? Don’t panic! Check your UCAS Track to see the status of your application, if you have narrowly missed your grades you may still be accepted to your first choice, and there is always your second choice if you have just missed your predicted grades. If this is not the case, then there is UCAS Clearing which you can turn to. This helps you find an alternative course at your chosen University, or even an alternative place to study!

It’s not all bad news, National figures have shown that 26.3% of A-level entries scored an A* or A this year, which is up 0.5% on 2016, making this year the first time the pass rate has risen since 2011. Figures have also shown that a spike in entries to a smaller range of subjects, such as computing, with a massive 33% rise in the number of students sitting the exam this year.
