Increase in IT company hiring.

After the last few years, the lack of jobs for college students may finally be taking a turn for the better. Information technology companies have returned to college campuses to hire new employees seeking the lower cost to their companies that the newcomers to the industry provide. Companies like Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys have seen poor returns the last couple of years as shown in several recent reports by an analyst with a Mumbai based brokerage.

Tata Consultancy Services is one of many companies that are seeking to hire students to help reduce employee costs. TCS will even make 800 offers in the United States as part of their plan to hire 500 new employees from the United States by 2016 and many other technology companies have similar plans. Engineering colleges have also noticed the recent upward trend in entry level hiring. Factors for the rise are largely contributed to the poor performance of many large IT companies who in turn are seeking out new employees at universities and colleges for the entry level  pay rates they are willing to accept even passing over the experienced prospects in the process.

Sunda raman Viswanathan, a management consultant at Zinnov Management Consultancy, says “Fresher hiring continues and has to continue mainly because it is one of the important levers to manage the cost and to ensure that they balance the pyramid.”

The recent changes perhaps offers greater hopes for students seeking IT employment and they should take advantage of the current situation that many IT companies are finding themselves in.
